In the frozen north, beyond the Dragonwrath Mountains, nomadic tribes vie for supremacy and survival in one of Peranorn’s harshest landscapes. Though on exceptionally rare occasions the tribe forms a true horde, for the most part there is fierce competition amongst tribes and totems for territory and game.
Every barbarian tribe has both a totem- their spiritual guide- and a lodge—their primary fighting style. Tribes, though, are not hereditary. Both sons and daughters frequently marry into a differing totem or lodge (though changing both), at fairly high rates. And like a bear cub growing up and leaving it’s mother, once a child leaves it’s tribe as a man or a woman, all family connection is severed.
Though a widespread and ill organized people, the Barbarians as a whole control far more land than the southerners. The land does have secrets, and the North features some of the most diverse fauna on the continent. Old magics still thrive in secrecy away from civilization, though the Barbarians practice none and control little.
